Kuala Lumpur, 27 April 2016 – Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia (PIAM) has elected Mr. Antony Lee, CEO of AIG Malaysia Insurance Bhd as its Chairman at the Association’s 38th Annual General Meeting held on 22 April 2016.
Mr. Antony Lee said “It’s a great honour for me to be given this opportunity to lead the Management Committee of PIAM. Over the last 2 years the Association has embarked on a transformation journey to reposition itself as a dynamic organisation to better serve its members and proactively engage all key stakeholders for the benefit of the general insurance industry. Moving forward we will continue to drive this transformation in the face of rapid developments on the regulatory and business fronts. The recent announcement by Bank Negara Malaysia to gradually liberalize the Motor and Fire insurance classes will see the industry operating in a totally new environment where emphasis will be on delivering innovative products and services thereby enhancing customer experience overall.”
Mr. Chua Seck Guan, Chief Executive Officer of MSIG Insurance (Malaysia) Bhd was elected as the Deputy Chairman.
Eight other CEOs of member companies of PIAM will serve on the Management Committee for 2016/2017, namely Mr. Steve Crouch from ACE Jerneh Insurance Bhd, Mr. Derek Roberts from AmGeneral Insurance Bhd, En. Zaharudin Daud from Etiqa Insurance Bhd, Mr. Looi Kong Meng from Lonpac Insurance Bhd, Mr. David Tan See Dip of Liberty Insurance Bhd, En. Zainudin Ishak of Malaysian Reinsurance Bhd, Mr. Randy Hong of Swiss Reinsurance Company Ltd and Mr. David Fike of Zurich Insurance Malaysia Bhd.
