Kuala Lumpur, 25 Mar 2020 – PIAM understands and fully empathizes with consumers who are concerned over their motor insurance coverage during the current Movement Control Order (MCO) period.
Consumers are reminded that all motor insurance must be kept valid during the MCO period.
Member companies of PIAM are working to ensure that all aspects of valid insurance protection to policyholders are not affected during this period. To minimise direct human interaction and curb the COVID-19 pandemic, we strongly encourage the public to adopt digital platforms as a form of communication with all insurers and agents either via e-payment, direct distribution channel and other online platforms.
For renewal of motor insurance consumers should use online platforms to do so. PIAM advises all motorists to contact their respective insurers who will be able to render assistance on their renewal.
For claims matters, consumers should report all events giving rise to claims to respective insurers who remain accessible either via branches, call centres, electronic means including fax, email, social media or etc.
