Mr Ng Kok Kheng, Chairman of PIAM Board of Directors
Kuala Lumpur, 9 May 2024 – Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia (PIAM) announces the appointment of its Board of Directors for the 2024 to 2026 term, effective 25 April 2024.
Mr Ng Kok Kheng was elected as Chairman of the Board for a two-year term. He brings over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, including 17 years as CEO of Great Eastern General Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad. Mr. Antony Lee, CEO of AIG Malaysia Insurance Berhad, was elected as Deputy Chairman.
On his appointment as PIAM Chairman, Mr Ng Kok Kheng said, “I am honored to be entrusted with the leadership role by my fellow Board Directors. I look forward to collaborating with the Board to represent the general insurance industry in optimizing opportunities and strengthening awareness of emerging risks and new technologies brought about by regulatory structural reform and an accelerated pace of macro-environment changes in recent years. Importantly, PIAM and its members will continue to work to ensure Malaysians benefit from a financially strong general insurance industry offering a wide range of insurance protection solutions and services for individuals, businesses, and communities alike.”
Mr. Ng additionally extended his appreciation to retiring Board Directors Mr Steve Crouch, CEO Chubb Insurance Malaysia Berhad, Mr Noor Muzir Mohamed Kasim, CEO Pacific & Orient Insurance Co. Berhad, and Mr Jeremy Lee from Jason Teoh & Partners for their contributions to PIAM and the industry.
