Kuala Lumpur, 14 February 2024 – Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia (“PIAM”) and  Malaysia Takaful Association (“MTA”), together with their respective member companies, in collaboration with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), proudly unveil the multi-year #JomLevelUp Consumer Education Programme (“CEP”).

Kicked-off on 20 December 2023, the #JomLevelUp CEP marks a significant step towards shaping a more informed and empowered consumer landscape within the motor insurance/takaful industry. The initiative aims to address consumer pain points and improve the overall customer claims experience. The CEP has a strategic focus on increasing awareness on needs-based coverage, promoting safe driving behaviour, educating consumers on their rights and essential steps following accidents or breakdowns, and encouraging the adoption of digital solutions for motor insurance/takaful claims processing. The  campaign features the modern Ot-to mascot, symbolising a strong commitment to consumer education and increasing motor digitalisation usage.

As part of the programme and in celebration of the Chinese New Year, PIAM and MTA introduced the #ILuvMyRide Contest which will run from 1 to 29 February 2024. The public is invited to share positive stories about their car or motorcycle rides, highlighting the importance of protecting with motor insurance/takaful protection. A total of 28 winners stand to win prizes totalling up to RM14,500, including an Apple iPhone 15 Pro, AirPods Pro 2nd Generation, 70mai A80 Dash Cam 32GB and Touch n’ Go credit worth RM100.

The competition is open to all residents of Malaysia with terms and conditions. To participate, follow these steps:

As part of the industry’s commitment to enhancing motor insurance/takaful experience, PIAM and MTA urge road users to download their insurer’s/takaful operator’s digital roadside assistance mobile application before starting their journey. This proactive step ensures a smoother travel ahead with their loved ones, knowing that they can request assistance with just a tap of a button in case of an emergency or car breakdown. It is important for travellers to be confident on the road,  knowing they have the right coverage, understand their rights and can access crucial information through their insurer’s/ takaful operator’s digital roadside assistance mobile application.
