RM2.43 Million Fund for Flood-Affected Vehicles
In response to the severe flooding that affected at least seven states in Peninsular Malaysia in December 2021, the Association established a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Flood Relief Fund amounting to RM2.43 million.
This initiative aimed to alleviate the hardship faced by vehicle owners whose vehicles were inundated by floodwaters. The fund provided subsidies for mechanical clean-up costs (excluding repairs) at competent workshops, with a one-off subsidy of RM500 for private and commercial vehicles and RM100 for motorcycles. Eligibility extended to vehicles insured under various motor policies, including comprehensive and third-party coverage, provided they were insured at the time of the flood or had been insured on or after 1 June 2021. Notably, claiming the subsidy did not affect the policyholder's No Claim Discount (NCD). The application process was streamlined through an online portal, MyCSR-Flood.my, and the fund remained open until the allocated amount was fully disbursed. This initiative complemented insurers' ongoing efforts to expedite claims settlements and provide additional relief measures to flood-affected policyholders.
