Japan Earthquake/Tsunami Fund

The Association promoted a drive to collect donations for victims of the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami that impacted the country on 11th March 2011. The Association and its member companies have maintained close and cordial relationships with the Japanese Insurance Market and many of PIAM s member companies have significant business partnerships with the Japanese insurance and business community.

The Association managed to collect a sum of RM30,000 and these funds were channeled to the victims of the Japan earthquake and tsunami through our counterpart, the General Insurance Association of Japan.

Insurance Day 2011

To commemorate Insurance Day 2011, the Association organized a day out for underprivileged children from three homes i.e. The Good Samaritan Home, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Agathians Malaysia and Pusat Jagaan Kanak Kanak WP. The annual events organized by the Association for the Insurance Day have always been targeted to provide assistance to those in need and to convey greater awareness of the insurance industry as part of the caring society.

The children from the three homes were hosted for a day out at the Denai Alam Recreation and Riding Club, Selangor where they were treated to exciting outdoor activities. In addition, the Association also presented three cheques of RM10,000 each to the three homes to help finance their daily operations. The homes were selected because of their commendable dedication and continuous commitment in transforming the lives of orphans and the underprivileged in Malaysia.
