Kuala Lumpur, 24 October 2014 – The General Insurance Association of Malaysia (PIAM) has recently appointed Mark Lim Kian Wei as the Association’s new Chief Executive Officer.

“PIAM’s top priority remains improving and advancing the general insurance industry to contribute further to the nation’s sustainable economy. Mark will be responsible for driving and executing the change management strategies to transform the Association to meet the challenges ahead to keep pace with developments in the insurance sector, “said PIAM Chairman, Chua Seck Guan.

“The landscape of the Malaysian insurance industry is rapidly evolving, brought about by increased competition and regulatory developments. I am honoured to join PIAM at this exciting time and look forward to working closely with all stakeholders to create a favourable business environment for our member companies. And in doing so we will support the initiatives that contribute to the national agenda,” said Mark Lim, PIAM Chief Executive Officer.

Lim has over 33 years of corporate and senior management experience in both the public and private sectors across a wide spectrum of industries ranging from financial services and life insurance to maritime development, port operations and leisure / fast-moving consumer goods business.

Before joining PIAM, Lim was managing his private consultancy practice focusing on change management and organization development. He was the Executive Director of the General Insurance Association of Singapore from 2006 to January 2013.
